How Our Headache Clinic Carries Out the Procedure

Assessments: Our team begins the process with a 60-minute complex assessment, which is covered by OHIP.

Medication management (OHIP): Based on the assessment, we may recommend OHIP-covered medication management. It helps reduce pain or headache frequency.

Counseling (OHIP and Private): We also offer counselling services, as it helps some patients manage pain co-occurring due to emotional strain. Early psychotherapy (first 6) sessions are covered by OHIP, after which counseling sessions are covered by Private Pay.

Ultrasound-guided Botox injections (Part OHIP, Part Private): For certain types of chronic headaches or migraines, we may offer ultrasound-guided Botox injections, which are done in-office, and provide 3-months up to some permanent relief. The assessment is covered by OHIP, while the medication is covered by private pay.

Supplements (Private Pay): We may recommend supplements to support overall neurological health and help manage headache symptoms.

Laser Therapy and Phototherapy (Private): UV light (OHIP) Based on individual need, we may use Additional therapies such as laser therapy, phototherapy, or UV light therapy.

Finally, our clinic takes a multidisciplinary approach with the following therapies, as headaches can be interlinked with other health conditions:

    -Physiotherapy (strength):

    - Chiropractic care (alignment)

    - Occupational Therapy (posture and positioning)

    - Massage (pain, mobility, circulation)
