Custom Orthotics

Your feet directly impact the rest of your body. When problems develop in your feet, your posture and walking patterns shift, which can cause stress on the joints in your ankles, knees, hips, and spine.
Custom orthotics (also called prescription orthotics) are biomechanical medical devices that correct foot abnormalities and allow for proper foot function. They look like insoles and fit into your shoes the same way, but they are very different. They are custom-made just for you from a precise imprint of your feet. They gently realign the bones in your feet, providing shock absorption, support, and proper alignment, which reduces stress and strain on your body.
At F.R.O.M. Toronto Pain Relief Clinic, our chiropractors provide you with the highest quality custom orthotics that are made using a unique blend of materials in several thickness options. The orthotics can be made to fit into a variety of shoes, from running shoes to dress shoes.
As a first step, your chiropractor will conduct a thorough biomechanical foot examination and gait analysis. You will then be advised if custom orthotics are recommended for your specific condition. Next, your chiropractor will take a precise cast of your feet and send the imprint to a lab where your orthotics will be made. The orthotics should arrive at our clinic in one to two weeks. An appointment will then be scheduled where your chiropractor will teach you how to wear the orthotics and gradually adjust to them correctly. Finally, we will follow up to ensure you are happy with the orthotics and wear them regularly.
At our clinic, custom orthotics are often prescribed in combination with treatments such as chiropractic care, physiotherapy, and massage therapy. Our multidisciplinary approach to healthcare will ensure that your recovery time is reduced and your functional range of motion is maximized.
